Even the Atlantic City casino landscape is an eclectic mix of new, renovated, and older possessions.
In addition to Harrah side of the town, parent firm Caesars Entertainment??owns Bally’s and the Caesars possessions on the Boardwalk. Caesars and Bally’s definitely fall in the”older” category.
Bally’s casino started in 1979. From a parking garage that disappeared directional signals and has definitely seen its better days, to exploited out carpet, the Bally’s property feels every bit as old as its 40 decades.
I was hoping to prep myself as I found my way supporting the Bally’s sportsbook. I honestly didn’t understand what to anticipate.
I’ve been reviewing every New Jersey sportsbook ahead of the NFL season kickoff. This one comes a bit but also for good reason.
Since I started to map out my onsite trip program back in July , I snapped The Novel in the conclusion of my itinerary at Bally’s, because its scheduled launch wasn’t before the end of July.
Together with the place open and fully operational, let’s dive in and have a look at The Novel in Atlantic City.
Address: 1900 Boardwalk, Atlantic City, NJ 08401
The Novel, which opened on July 30 and had its grand opening during the Philadelphia Eagles game on Sunday, Sept. 8, which hasn’t yet made the listing on the directional signals in Bally’s/Caesars complex.
Entering from the garage is a bit of a trip, so just follow the worn rugs and faded hints to”Bally’s Wild West” or simply ask a casino worker for a number of directions.
Well, the trite old expression of”don’t judge a book by its cover” certainly applies to The Book. From the moment I came down the escalator, I was dismissed by this awesome venue. “Impressive,””astounding” and”monumental” all come to mind, and I could visit synonyms.com and easily locate 10 more words that would also apply to the sportsbook.
The Coyote Kate’s Wild Wild West Slots Parlor space at Bally’s has been transformed to a state of their art and truly Vegas-style sportsbook. #Boom.
The 15,228-square-foot space is jaw-dropping, out of the luxurious seating space, personal enthusiast temples along with also a”wall of beer” and TV screens of these scale, they would be right at home as part of the NYC”Times Square” scene.
As previously mentioned, while finding this space by the parking garage was a bit arduous, The Novel is much more easily accessible from the Boardwalk entrance, although from the outside signs you’d never know that there is a veritable”sports palace” lurking outside the recorded Wild Wild West along with Guy Fieri restaurants.
To put the scale of The Book into perspective, it’s almost 2x the size of the next biggest AC books (Borgata sportsbook along with William Hill at Ocean). The design and scale of the sportsbook is available in the existing casino area since most of the books must be retrofitted into the property Since I have observed at AC casinos.
Nicely, Bally’s had plenty of room to work with and they definitely”researched the space” when designing Your Novel.
Bally’s AC sportsbook is enormous space that is one contiguous. There are a third which functions as a video wall with the ability to be formatted into displays to get game actions protection and two TV displays.
The viewing area is composed of 102 leather seats, a row using 30 VIP seats and table railing that includes video slots and seats for 28 more.
Additionally, since the TV screens and the area are so large, there’s a lot of space.
Under the displays in the close of the Bally’s sportsbook are five personal, fully enclosed lover temples every holding 16 to 24 people and available for pre-booking via internet reservations.
All told, that’s a capacity up to 280, with loads of space to hang out in the event that you do not have a chair.
There are seven live gambling teller spaces. The teller region is modest in relative proportion to the overall size of this book.
I do raise an issue that it could be chaotic becoming during sports betting times into the window at The Novel.
Massive boards featuring data and odds are located right above the teller windows, that are big enough to need you to stand 20-25 feet off to take in the entire view of information.
RATING: 3.5 stars
There are no self-service terminals at The Novel.
This must be a Caesars item since there are not any kiosks in the Harrah’s book . This might be the only blot with this sportsbook’s resume. It is simply unacceptable for a venue of this size that is sprawling to have no choices that are self-betting.
Apparently, there is a plan for kiosks at some point.
The dwell teller minimum is $5, which out of the William Hill venues is the standard live teller minimum at Atlantic City sportsbooks.
Sadly, that is not an option here, Though other books provide you a lower bet minimum at their kiosks.
RATING: 2.5 stars
These displays at The Book’s size are unmatched. No one else has displays, and it’s an experience when your sport is on the display.
There (currently) is a scarcity of smaller display options, therefore there might be challenging if you’re not there to watch the Eagles, Jets or Giants play any given NFL game day.
RATING: 4.5 stars
The 280-seat ability is far and away the largest of any NJ sportsbook. A clear winner for Bally’s in this category.
RATING: 5 stars
The Book contains five personal enthusiast designs available for reservation. All these are enclosed behind a door, with every space holding up with TV screens.
the chairs in the main viewing area can be reserved online. In lieu of a”rental fee,” there is a food & beverage minimum spending dedication required as a member of this reservation.
As an example, Sunday, Sept. 8, the main viewing seats demanded a single food and beverage spend of $50. Going the ladder up, the VIP minimum spends start at $150 and fan temples.
Tying this is a excellent, user-friendly reservation template around the Bally’s website, as shown below to your Sept. 22 NFL Sunday:
RATING: 5 stars
The Book makes it easy to accomplish the minimum spends on your seats.
There is a seven-page food-and-drink menu for ordering. There’s also a self-service beer pub that has 16 distinct baits.
RATING: 5 stars
On my trip, there were four workers behind the teller’s counter security guards patrolling the place, and housekeeping employees in a constant motion.
There are lots of racks containing paper odds and futures available to browse and choose from.
RATING: 5 stars
The self-parking fee of $25 is the highest at Atlantic City. It appears criminal to control this amount and have you walk through a garage area. Yuck!!
RATING: 2 stars
Is gigantic.
Therefore, there are some newly added arcade games such as shuffleboard air hockey, and pool tables. There is potential for 16 beer pong tables.
Past the choices at Bally’s, the prime area of the property provides easy access to attractions and the Boardwalk and other casinos.
RATING: 5 stars
As a part of every sportsbook visit, I’m placing a football-related wager for the upcoming season.
Attempting to figure out who are the perfect plays for your Week 1 of the NFL, I put a small four-team moneyline parlay for $5 which would pay 4-1 if I am right about the Chiefs, Seahawks, Vikings, along with Ravens all beginning week 1 with a”W”:
As it happens, I was correct on all four choices and $20.46 is now mine for the taking. That warrants a self high-five.
The Book at Bally’s is a definite must-visit, as this place is really spectacular if you are in Atlantic City. From its mega-screen dimensions to a broad menu of beverages and food to its high-end seating, there is something for sport bettor and every sports fan love and to see.
Though the Bally’s parking fees are excessive, it the expense of accessing most of the Atlantic City casinos. The sole knock on The Novel are the current absence of self-serve kiosks.
Some kiosks are on the way and they’ll surely be required to give aid for the small live teller region. Caesars, hey about installing a self-betting kiosk in every fan cave area that is personal? That could be a fantastic touch.
It needs to be a good NFL season and there must be some moments to experience in the Bally’s sportsbook that autumn.
