Neil Lennon would encourage players if they are ever exposed to abuse to walk off the pitch.
When Englands players have been racially abused throughout the Euro 2020 qualifying game the issue is back in the news after England win over Bulgaria on Monday.
Englands players twice contemplated walking off the pitch in protest but instead opted to trace the anti-racism protocols of UEFA, with the referee asking to be made ordering the abuse.
Celtic boss Lennon worries there mightpossibly be similar problems when the Hoops visit Lazio in the Europa League following month.
The match will be played at a stadium that is partly closed after UEFA found guilty of racist behavior their fans throughout the 2-1 Europa League victory on French club Rennes in the Stadio Olimpico.
I would not discourage any participant from walking off the pitch if hes getting racially abused, Lennon said, preparing for the visit of Ross County in the Ladbrokes Premiership on Saturday.
Id encourage it because at the end of the afternoon its pointing out there is a wrong and all of us have to do a little bit more to stop it.
And for all the individuals its private and it is very hurtful.
UEFA protocol was used in Bulgaria although not taken to its whole end of the game.
A lot of the debate walked off and has concentrated on whether or not Gareth Southgates players have to have taken things into their own hands.
Asked about the possibility of having to consider walking in Rome, along with his ideas on that, Lennon said:Its a hypothetical question but we will cross that bridge when we come to it.
We will be guided from the team and people behind the scenes until we take to the pitch, so its hard to say what we could do in those circumstances.
Weve had a few warnings about it but mercifully there has been no one of it manifest itself so far.
I find it bitterly disappointing that a number of the scene will be closed.
This is a true shame since its a true glamour sport for us, one we are all looking forward to, visiting Rome and playing with a wonderful Italian side, therefore it has really taken away the sweetness of everything.
Lennon was dismayed after Celtic were fined 12,000 euros (Number 10,400) by UEFA following their supporters set off fireworks at the 2-0 Europa League triumph over Cluj earlier this season.
Its the second handsome Celtic have obtained from the governing body this season after they were punished for fans setting off flares and throwing objects during the 4-1 Europa League play-off second-leg triumph over AIK in August.
Lennons advice to Celtics assistants was straightforward.
Stop it, he said. Weve got sufficient color, air and sound in the scene. So it is not performing the club any good, we got fined again. I dont actually understand the allure of pyrotechnics from the stadium.
