La’el Collins agrees five-year deal with Dallas CowboysPCMAX
Right tackle La’el Collins has agreed to some third party contract expansion with the Dallas Cowboys.
According to sources, the price includes $35m ensured, which is the amount from the league for a tackle.
Even with trio Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott and Amari Cooper looking for paydays of the own – using the holdout of Elliott looking like it will continue in the season – another starter that was young was locked up by the Cowboys by extending Collins’ deal and solidifying their attacking line.
In August, they passed out a $64m contract into linebacker Jaylon Smith.
Collins, 26, signed as an undrafted free agent out of LSU after NFL teams passed him at the draft times after he had been questioned in a former girlfriend’s murder despite not being a defendant.
From the time that the analysis showed Collins was not involved, he was a part of the Cowboys’ roster, signing a three-year, $1.5Zero arrangement.
Owner Jerry Jones asserted to update this first deal, and followed through with a two-year, $15.4m contract from 2017.
Collins started his NFL career in guard but has put this line’s perfect side to All-Pro Tyron Smith on the left side for a bookend.
