12-fight UFC veteran Sam Sicilia latest to sign multi-fight Bellator contract

Good on him! Dropping a unanimous choice to promotional novice Gavin Tucker in UFC Fight Night 105 back in October, Sicilia dropped to a three-fight losing skid in the UFC and received his pink slip from the promotion. I like he’s found a new home using Bellator, and hopefully an equally good or even better payday. Win or lose, the Washington native always shows up to fight and seems for the finish. Congratulations to Sammy Dubs because of his new contract, and best of luck on his new chapter.
Frank Mir agrees to deal with Bellator MMA
Nice! The UFC did exactly the right thing and released Mir out of his contract, which enabled Bellator to sweep up him. My guess is that they promised him a matchup from Fedor Emalianenko, which made him pick Bellator over competing promotions. I like this move by Mir and anticipate seeing him inside the Bellator cage. The Fedor matchup will certainly be an interesting one.

Dillashaw: Mighty Mouse was’consolation prize’
TJ Dillashaw is finally set to confront UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt in UFC 217 in New York City on November 4th, and the main reason this name fight is presently happening is because UFC flyweight champion Demetrious”Mighty Mouse” Johnson refused to defend his title against Dillashaw when Garbrandt was forced out of the UFC 209 competition because of injury. The Duane Ludwig-trained fighter understands that Johnson was not confident in himself to accept the challenge. Talking to MMA Junkie Radio, Dillashaw said that the Gabrandt fight is exactly what he wanted all along and that the Johnson matchup was just a backup program. He knows that is not a fantastic fight for him wouldn’t accept it,” Dillashaw said. “He is real worried about this document that he wants to break. Go ahead and let him do this, I figure.”
White: Ferguson, Lee to fight for interim lightweight name Alright, now we are talking! Early common consensus is that Ferguson will handily defeat Lee, but personally, I’m not so confident. Lee has been quite impressive as of late, and I like seeing his growth inside the Octagon. That is a matchup I am excited about visiting, and win or lose, I hope Lee does not suffer any mishaps he’ll make a fast turnaround for December’s UFC 218 in his native Detroit, that is two months following the Ferguson bout.

No, Diego, Nooooo!!!!! Say it isn’t so! Just call it quits, my dude. Hang them up gloves. It’s time. You do not have to be jumping back around 170 pounds when you’re recently analyzing the waters at 145. Don’t stick around for the money, man, the brain damage won’t be worth it.
