WISSAHICKON (best price 15-8) is the class horse in the race and will take a beating in the opener at York. Zaaki’s form isn’t like it reads, I would not read much into the beating that is four-year-old Barney Roy if the Charlie Appleby horse returned to the track. Wissahickon didn’t pick up last time out in Lingfield, and in the end was fairly pleased to finish a long way. He’ll benefit from being rested and goes well clean.
BEAT LE BON (best price 5-1) is just two from 2 at Goodwood, also also in my eyes has a breaking opportunity to complete the hat-trick. The three year old has won his last three races, which contained a 1 length win Value Of Kent, who conducted in the holiday season. He did not get the simplest of rides in the last ditch at Goodwood, but won with ease.
FIRST IN LINE (best cost 7-2) created a massive impression when destroying the area at Doncaster, this will be a more demanding race for John Gosden’s three-year-old but he is likely to take pleasure in the step up in trip. Whilst First In Line is the possible winner, I’m not having LARIAT (best cost 33-1) as the standing man. The three-year-old has been banging this season, and finished in behind some decent sorts. Private Secretary went on to triumph at Goodwood and beat on him. Sir Ron Priestley has won two on the bounce , and beat him. Durston beat on himwho then followed it up with a second. It’ll be interesting to see the way he glanced over the space, but 33/1 with four locations looks massive.
VIVIDLY (best cost 15-2) was not fancied at all when winning last time out, and was tipped by me in a much shorter cost. However, a few stunned by winning a race that was good. That win off the rear of a third spot on debut, lost to the striking Sharp. African Swift finished fourth when Vividly place in a good performance on Friday, and won. Charles Hills’ horse should return to a lot following that triumph.
LAURENS (best price 11-4) was back for her best when winning over in France, a win which quietened doubters following that disappointing outing at Ascot. The win at Deauville was her sixth at the maximum degree. The one I’d keep an eye on is Sir Dancealot with this floor, although there is not too much for her to conquer here Cape Byron is a threat.
RAHEEN HOUSE (best price 8-1) appears to delight in the more aggressive races with loads of runners, instead of the small fields he has been competing inside. William Haggas is in fine shape, and his five-year-old has ended second and third.
Another which I think seems a cracking each-way wager is KELLY’S DINO (best cost 25-1 / 8 places). The six-year-old is at the top of his game following a narrow win against Corelli, who ran at York. You would be shocked to find 25/1 online 26, if you look at some of the horses that have finished in behind Kelly’s Dino. The favourite King’s Advice was pushed all the way by Outbox last time out, the same horse that Kelly’s Dino readily place away (over 1m 4f).
DOUBLE In Line & Laurens @ 15.8/1 )
